Supervised Visits
Supervised visits (also known as supervised contact) provide children with a safe, supported space to spend time with a parent or someone important in their life, with a caring professional present. At Hope Haus QLD, we have thoughtfully created a warm and nurturing play space where children can feel comfortable, supported, and at ease. Our focus is on creating a calm and child-centre experience where relationships can be nurtured, strengthened, or rebuilt over time.Â

Before the Visit
-
Each parent or party attends a private intake session separately, giving us the opportunity to understand your family's unique needs and ensure the appropriate supports are in place.
-
Visits are thoughtfully planned at our centre or an approved community location.
-
Clear and supportive guidelines are provided so everyone feels comfortable and prepared.

During the Visit
-
A trained supervisor is present to gently support, observe, and keep records of the interaction.
-
Children are welcomed into a safe, warm, and playful space with toys, books, and activities to help them feel at ease.
-
The visit remains child focused, with care taken to support the child's needs at all times.
-
Only when needed, the supervisor may guide the interaction, offer a break, and provide reassurance to the child.
-
Conversations need to stay appropriate for the child, free from adult concerns or conflict

Onsite Visits vs. Offsite Visits
Onsite visits are held in our welcoming contact centre where these visits provide a structured and secure environment for children to feel safe and supported. For some families, visits may take place in the community such as the nearby Hawthorne Park which is only about a 5-min walk away. All offsite visits are carefully assessed and planned in advance.

For many families, supervised visits are a step toward greater independence, helping rebuild trust, and strengthening relationships  over time.

SUPERVISED CONTACT VISITS
We also offer the Tuning into Kids parenting program, a supportive, evidence-based group designed to help parents strengthen their connection with their children. The course is delivered over six weekly sessions. It focuses on building emotional awareness and equipping parents with practical skills to respond to their child’s feelings with empathy, guidance, and confidence. In a safe and welcoming environment, parents are supported to better understand their child’s emotional world, manage challenging behaviours, and foster secure, trusting relationships that support their child’s long-term wellbeing. If you are interested in joining a group, please contact reception and we will notify you when the next program is scheduled to commence.
